Naan



1 pack of active dry yeast
1 cup warm water
1/4 cup white sugar3 tbsp milk
2 tsp salt
4 1/2 cups bread flour 1/4 cups melted butter
1 egg beaten
2 tsp minced garlic (optional)

In a large bowl dissolve yeast in warm water until it foams up about 10 minutes. stir in sugar milk eggs salt and enough flour to make a soft dough

knead for about 8 minutes or until smooth

Place dough in an oiled bowl cover and let rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in volume

Punch down knead in garlic and pinch off golf ball sized dough roll into balls and place on tray, let rise until doubled covered in plastic wrap

during second rising preheat grill to high heat or fry pan

roll balls very thin lightly oil grill cook dough 2-3 minutes until puffy and slightly brown brush un cooked side with butter and turn over brush cooked side and cook 2-4 minutes remove ( i sometimes skip the brushing with butter if I'm using a frying pan or don't have any:))

makes about 12 naan
